Dick James West, Sr.., Mercer, Coolspring Twp. Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, March 2, 025 in the Emergency Department of UPMC, Horizon, Greenville Campus. He was 77.
Dick was born on December 10, 1947, a son of the late Raymond and Dorothea (Bowers) West. On June 8, 1985, he married the former Cynthia S. Miller who preceded him in death on July 7, 2022. Dick was employed by General Aluminum, Conneaut Ohio from where he retired in 2005. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to Elvis music, he had attained his black belt in karate.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dick James West, Jr., Ashtabula, OH, Tammy Santana, Ashtabula, OH, Sandy Strange, Conneaut, OH, John Culver, Ashtabula, OH, Shandale Ridgway, Mercer and Corrina (Brandon) West Murphy, Fredonia, a sister, Diana Strausbaugh, Freemont, OH, 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cynthia, and his seven siblings.
The family will be privately honoring the life of Dick with a celebration of life planned in the future.
