Dennis C. “Bill” Williams, Greenville (Salem Twp.) passed away early Saturday afternoon, January 16, 2021 at the UPMC Hamot, Erie. He was 82
He was born in Geneva, on February 5, 1938 a son of the late Timothy and Frances (Voorhies) Williams. On April 19, 1958 he married the former Janet Mitchell who survives. Bill, as he was known to his family and friends, had been employed by Conrail, from which he retired and also was a lifelong dairy and beef farmer on the family farm. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and always enjoyed the companionship of his dogs throughout the years.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by two sons, Andrew Chuck (Pam) Williams, Greenville and Vernon (Jenny) Williams, Greenville; a daughter, Billie Jo (Charles) Kocher, Sheakleyville; a sister, Doris “Sissy” Thurber, Conneaut Lake; 7 grandchildren, Angie (Jason) Mills, Greenville, Charles “Mitch” (Krysta) Williams, Seattle, WA, Adams Williams, Atlantic, Tom (Lisa) Williams, San Francisco, CA., Cheryl (Jason) Fischer, Wexford and Donna and Luke Kocher, Sheakleyville; 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Richard and Michael Williams; 3 sisters, Polly Barr, Donna Bossard, Dorothea Williams and an infant sister.
For those comfortable in attending, the funeral and committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Michael D. Marshall, pastor of the North Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating. The funeral service will be lived streamed at www.snyderfh.com. He will be laid to rest at the Stevenson Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
