David Robinson, Jr. Obituary

David L Robinson Jr., 57, of Greene Twp. went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday January 22, 2021 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Erie following an extended illness surrounded by his family.

David was born on October 25, 1963 in Greenville to David L and Gloria (Humphrey) Robinson Sr. He was a 1981 graduate of Reynolds High School and loved playing tuba and serving as a roadie for the marching band.

He would meet the love of his life, Kathy, and they would marry on March 12, 1983 sharing 37 years together.  Dave enlisted in the United States Army (1981-1985) and served as a sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division; Screaming Eagles. During his time in the service David saw tours in the Sinai Desert, Panama, and Puerto Rico before transitioning to the National Guard in Grove City (1985-1993) where he was discharged with honors.

Dave began his local business career as a partner in the Jamestown Hardware store in 2005 and soon began doing tax returns from the backroom.  In 2008 he started his full time tax and accounting service and then moved the business to Greenville in 2017 with his partner, Tyler Babcock, opening B&R Accounting.  The business would soon expand with locations serving Farrell and Andover Ohio.

Anyone who knew Dave knew his love for history and Civil War Reenactment. Dave served the 10th Pennsylvania, Company G and made many trips to Gettysburg.  He was a born leader of men and spent many hours serving in Gettysburg planning the next reenactment. Dave served on the board of the Mercer County Historical Society, the Sons of Union Veterans, and many additional groups in the area. In his quiet-time you would find him under a microscope painting miniature civil war soldiers.

Most importantly Dave was a “man of faith”.  He dedicated his life to prayer, God’s Word, and to service. He was a man’s man and was a great mentor to many.  His service to the church included: oversight of Men’s Ministry, Preaching the Word, security, finance committee, and he served faithfully on the Administrative Council of Bethel Life.   Dave also served on the Finance Committee of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in Oklahoma City.  A highlight for Dave was his mission trips in 2017 to Khmelnitsky Ukraine.

In addition to the day he married Kathy his greatest joy was the day in 1996 that their daughter Emily entered their lives.

In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his daughter Emily Artiles and her husband Jeremy of West Middlesex.   A sister-in-law Jill Robinson, a niece Amanda Robinson, and his precious granddaughters Willow & Wren

David was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff.

A Celebration Service for Dave Robinson will be private and be held on Tuesday January 26, 11:00am, at Bethel Life Worship Center in Greenville.  Pastor’s Kent Bell, James Fleck, Greg Terry, and Larry Mininger will be officiating and all attending are asked to wear a face covering and observe social distancing.
