Daniel Roi Wilcox, aged 70, passed away of natural causes at his home in Carlton, PA April 3, 2019.  Pennsylvania   Born in Warren, Ohio to parents Henry Eugene Wilcox and Grace Alice (Michel) Wilcox, Dan graduated from Cochranton Area Joint High School in 1966 and later attended the University of Maryland.  As a young man Wilcox traveled extensively in California, Mexico, and Guatemala, and in the 1980’s, returned to Pennsylvania where he designed and built his passive solar underground home on 73 acres in a beautiful remote location in Carlton where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life.  Over the years, Wilcox served as a general contractor. He was an avid vegetarian and gardener, practicing sustainable organic gardening, providing for himself, as well as growing and distributing his own organic shiitake mushrooms and produce to restaurants and groceries in Western Pennsylvania.  Wilcox was a self-taught musician, playing and recording his own pieces professionally on the folk harp and 12-string guitar, entertaining in local venues such as the Wilhelm Winery.  Wilcox shared his love of the natural life, hosting frequent spiritual retreats at his home over the past 50 years

His children, Nathan Roi Wilcox and Autumn Grace Wilcox and their mother, his former wife Jennifer (Derugen) Wilcox, survive Wilcox.  Also surviving are his son in law Nicholas Strauch, his brother and sister-in law Michel Paul and Beth Wilcox of Cochranton, his sister Muriel Suzanne (Wilcox) Lange and brother-in-law Paul Lange of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, his brother-in-law Steve Kish of Stoneboro, and by nieces, nephews, and cousins from both sides of his family.  He was predeceased by his parents and sister Karen Anne (Wilcox) Kish of Stoneboro, Pennsylvania

A private memorial service will be held for family at a date to be announced later.  Throughout his life, Dan had many beloved pets. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be donated in his name to the local branch of the ASPCA.
