Chester W. Loper, of Hadley, Sandy Creek Twp., passed away on Monday afternoon, July 29, 2024, in the emergency department of UPMC—Horizon, Greenville. He was 66.
Chester was born in Greenville on December 28, 1957, the son of the late Edward Wayne and Verla Mae (Gravatt) Loper. He worked as a farmer throughout his life, having worked on various local farms and also being employed by the former Ohio Hardwood and the Mercer Livestock Auction. He attended the North Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending antique power and steam engine shows.
He is survived by his siblings, Robin Loper, Hadley, James Loper, Hadley, and John Loper, his wife Emily, Hadley, and a niece, Vanessa Loper, Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Cathy Loper, and an infant niece, Allyson Loper.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville, with Rev. Sally Bell, pastor of the North Salem United Methodist Church, officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
