Carole A. “Kate” Gatts, Atlantic, East Fallowfield Twp. passed away early Thursday morning, July 6, 2023, in the comfort of her home. She was 81.
She was born in New Castle, on February 20, 1942 a daughter of the late Claude Michael and Sara Margaret (Myers) Shidemantle. On January 5, 1963, she married G. Oliver Gatts who preceded her in death on October 27, 2007.
Kate as she was known to her family and friends had a love of horses and had been throughout her life a trainer and trader of horses. She also bred and sold Australian Cattle Dogs
Kate is survived by her son Michael Gatts and his wife Alicia, Oakwood, TX, two sisters, Janet Sue Weigle, Portersville, and Patricia Brown, New Castle and a brother Michael Lynn Shidemantle, Tampa, FL, three grandchildren, Travis (Leah) Gatts, Willow, and Hallow Gatts and a great-grandson, Beau Micheal Gatts
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, G. Oliver Gatts, and a son Paul A. Gatts.
The family will be privately honoring the life of Kate.. No services are scheduled
