Carl J. Petruna, Hadley, Sandy Creek Twp. passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, July 4, 2025 at his residence. He was 75.
Carl was born in Geneva, PA on April 30, 1950, a son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Galan) Petruna. He had served honorably with the US Navy assigned to the USS Hawkins. On September 30, 1972, he married the former Joyce Fox, and together they shared nearly 53 years. He had been employed by Abex Corporation, Meadville, until its closing, and then went on to be employed by the Hodge Foundry, Greenville. For the past 10 years, he owned and operated Anchor Beer Distributors, Conneaut Lake. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating with a particular passion for archery hunting. He was a member of the Hadley Rod and Gun Club and the Meadville American Legion Post.
In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by a daughter, Renee (Greg) VanArtsdalen, Boardman, Ohio; one sister, Eleanor Miller, Salt Lake, Utah, and two grandchildren, Logan and Austin VanArtsdalen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
