Barbara L. Peterson, Hadley (Salem Twp.) passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, August 25, 2022, at the UPMC Hamot, Erie with her family by her side. She was 79.
She was born in Oliveburg on November 15, 1942, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Belle (Van Horn) Brown. On January 18, 2012, she married Kenneth G. Peterson who survives. Barbara had been employed as a LPN at the former Crawford County Home and later with the Wesbury Retirement Community from where she retired as a charge nurse. She had attended the Oak Grove Church, Mercer.
Mrs. Peterson’s passions were reading, thrift stores, yard sales and crafting. She was a fervent Pittsburgh steeler fan. Her family was a very important part of her life, with her greatest joy being the moments she shared with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by her children, Kimberly (Jack) Klins, Townville, Ronda Fawber, Conneaut Lake, John Meyer, Waterford, Joseph Meyer, Meadville, Kevin (Kristen) Peterson, Hadley and Diane Peterson, Greenville. Six grandchildren, Holly, Dana, Kaitlyn, Jonah, Kelsey and Nicole and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Bradley Klins.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at the Oak Grove Church, 10 Oak Grove Road, Mercer with Rev. Randy Ritchey, pastor of the church officiating. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville and on Monday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
