Robert C. Baxter, Chestnut Street, Fredonia passed away at 6:23 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Grove City Medical Center after a period of failing health. He was 69.
He was born in Sharon, on September 26, 1949 a son of the late C. Wesley and Norma Ruth (Finney) Baxter. He had graduated from The Edinboro State College in 1972 having obtained a teaching degree in Social Studies. Following his college graduation he began his working career as self employed dairy farmer and had been employed at the Damascus Tube and former Chicago Bridge and Iron, Greenville. He then went onto work in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as a milk tester for Dairy Herd Improvement Association. In his later years he had worked part time at McCartney True Value Feed and Hardware. He was a member of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church. Bob, is remember for his kindness, his quick wit and sense of humor. He always enjoyed being able to visit with his many friends and was known to have a nickname for each of them. He loved the simple country life and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by two sisters, Sandra A. Bochy of Fredonia and Karen R. Baxter of Reading. 3 nephews, Jason W. Bochy, Patrick A. Bochy and Samuel B. Bochy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John Wesley Baxter.
A celebration honoring the life of Robert C. Baxter will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church 24 Water Street, Fredonia, with Rev. Eric M.
