Richard E. Higbee

Richard E. Higbee, Second Street, Fredonia (Delaware Twp.) passed away at 4:57 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.  He was 69.

He was born in Greenville, Pa. on July 8, 1947 a son of the late Ralph and Ann (Doyle) Higbee.  On May 24, 1969 he married the former Evelyn J. McConnell who survives.   Rick has been employed as a Supervisor at the Reznor, Mercer having retired in 2011.  He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his son's and son in law.  Rick was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed participating in their many activities, he is remembered by his family for his wit and sense of humor.

In addition to his wife Evelyn of 48 years, he is survived by two sons, Brian Higbee and his girlfriend Raquel, Cranberry Twp. and Mark Higbee and his wife Natalie of Greenville; a daughter Amy Rea and her husband John of Fredonia; a sister, Judy Teets of Mercer; 7 grandchildren, Brittanny and Jonathan Higbee, Toni McElhinny, Seth Higbee, Dylan, Taylor and Abby Rea and a great grandson Jionni Higbee.

Rick was preceded in death by his parent and two brothers, William and Bruce Higbee.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia with Rev. Eric M. Peters, pastor of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church officiating,  The committal service and interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fairview Twp.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com
