Paul Pilgram Obituary

Paul E. Pilgram, Fredonia (Otter Creek Twp.) passed away early Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 at the Sharon Regional Medical Center.  He was 88.

Paul was born in Greenville on November 10, 1930 a son of the late William Frederick and Grace (Leipply) Pilgram.  He had been a lifelong self employed farmer and school bus contractor for the Commodore Perry School District.  Mr. Pilgram was a member of the Jerusalem Christian Church, Greenville formerly known as the Jerusalem United Church of Christ where he had served on the church consistory.  He was a former Otter Creek Twp. Supervisor, he had served on the Mercer County Planning Commission, was  a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Pennsylvania School Bus Association.  He belonged to the Greenville Elks Club, the Greenville Moose Lodge and the Naples, Florida Area Singles Club.

He possessed an interest and love for sports activities, was an avid follower of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.  He was a member of the American Bowling Congress and was proud of achieving his high score of 702.  During his retirement years, while wintering in Florida, Paul enjoyed golfing at the Country Creek Golf Course and playing bocce ball with his friends.  He also enjoyed traveling and made many ventures throughout the United States and Canada.  He loved John Deere equipment which could be found being utilized on his farm.

Paul is survived by a daughter, Paulette Dalton, Ballston Spa, NY;  two sons, Dwight Pilgram, Alpharetta, GA. and Chris Pilgram and his wife Sandy, Fredonia; a sister Doris Fisher, Pooler, GA.; 4 grandchildren, Helen Pilgram-Noble, Jenna Pilgram, Skyler Pilgram and Jarrett Pilgram and a great granddaughter, Kensington Stoops.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Warren E. Pilgram and his former wife Bonnie.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Jerusalem Christian Church, 560 Donation Road,  Greenville with pastor John Canon, officiating.  Family and friends will be received on Sunday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia and on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to either the Kindred Care Hospice, 3124 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. 16105 or to the Jerusalem Christian Church
