Mary A. Hoover, a resident of the Grove at Greenville, formerly of Delaware Twp., Greenville passed away at 11:35 am on Sunday, July 15, 2018. She was 89
Mary was born in Hempfield Twp. on August 24, 1928 a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Gladys (Thompson) Shannon. On August 23, 1958 she married George B. Hoover who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2014. She had attended the one room school house on Donation Road, was a homemaker and of the protestant faith. Mary along with her husband liked to attend flea markets and auctions and enjoyed going to the car races at the Sharon Speedway.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise Wright and her husband Gene of Bulls Gap, TN.; a grandson, George Addison Wright of Bulls Gap, TN.; Two sisters, Dorothy Shannon and Helen Moats both of Hiram, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister, Martha Shannon and 4 brothers, Charles Shannon, Floyd Shannon, Clyde Shannon and Paul Shannon.
The funeral service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia. The interment will follow at the Millbank Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 – 6:45 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com.
