Lawrence E. (Gene) Miller

Lawrence E. (Gene) Miller, Hadley, Sandy Creek Twp. passed away at 10:15 am on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Aristacare at Park Avenue, Meadville.  He was  85.

He was born in Greenville, on July 11, 1932 a son of the late William S. and Dorothy Mae (Brush) Miller.  On April 10, 1973 he married the former Annette Christy who preceded him in death on May 18, 2012. 

Gene was employed at the former Chicago Bridge and Iron Company, Greenville, he had served with the U.S. Army as a MP and was a member of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church. 

Gene is survived by a son, Darrell Lynn Miller and his fiancée Denise Buchanan of Hartstown; a daughter, Darlene Gene Span-Trostle and her husband Robert of Cranberry , a sister, Judy Noe of China, Michigan; three step children, Bonnie Dunn and her husband Adam of Meadville, Brenda Christy of Williamson, New York and Paul Christy and his wife Diane of Conneaut Lake; 5 grandchildren, Taylor Alexandra Span, Madison Elizabeth Span, Candice Lynn Shaffer and her husband Eric, Clarissa Sue Arbuckle and her husband Gary and Darrell Lynn Miller, II; 2 great grandchildren, Hayden Lee Harper and Jubilee Shaffer, 2 step grandchildren Chelsea Mailliard and Timothy Christy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Paul Frederick Brush.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, march 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy. Sheakleyville with Rev. Timothy Bowser, pastor of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church officiating.  The interment will follow at the Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com.
