Joseph Reid Myers, Ohle Road, Clarks Mills (Perry Twp.) passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence. He was 94.
He was born on August 31, 1923 in Clarion, a son of the late Joseph Collins and Effie Mae (Case) Myers.
Joseph had been employed at the local sawmill in Sheakleyville as the head sawyer until he retired. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class from 1941-1947. He enjoyed being outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing and ice fishing as well as watching his birds and spending time with his buddy Patches.
He is survived by his son, Joseph R. Greer and his wife Tina of Deerfield OH; a daughter, Cindy L. Brown and her significant other Ken Shomo of Meadville; a sister, Betty Joann Lippert and husband Ronald of Meadville; one grandson, nine granddaughters, twenty five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three wives, Carmen Ida Greer, Donna Southworth, Pauline R. Gosnell; a daughter, Linda M. Mauser; three sisters, Teresa, Dolores Faye and Mabel; four brothers, Robert, Wendell, Clyde and Danny; three sisters-in-law, Ellen, Bernie and Elaine; and three brothers-in-law, Raymond, Junior and Jim.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Eric Peters officiating. The internment with military honors will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville. Friends and family may call on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm.
