John J. Davison

John J. Davison, Perry Hwy., Hadley (Sandy Creek Twp.) passed away early Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 at the Quality Life Services-Mercer following a period of declining health.  He was 83.

John was born in Sandy Creek Twp. on February 7, 1935 a son of the late Frank M. and Donna (Free) Davison.  On July 24, 1954 he married the former Gloria M. Roberts who had preceded him in death on February 18, 2015.  John had been employed by the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad as a trainman, a career from which he had retired. He was a self employed farmer who enjoyed hunting and working on cars and tractors.  He was a faithful member of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son; Denny Davison and his wife Kathy, Hadley, a daughter; Darlene Slemenda and her husband John, Sandy Lake;  a sister, Lillian Ekholm, Jefferson, Ohio;  5 grandchildren; Eric and his wife Ashley, Ashley and her husband Tony, Molly and her fiancée Shawn, Megan and her husband Dan and Andy. 7 Great grandchildren; Hunter, Taylor, Elaine, Dylan, Brielle, Nathan and Evan.

He was preceded in death his parents;  his wife of 60 years; two brothers, Harold Davison and Frank Davison; Three sisters, Edna Pears, Martha Bailey and Mary Thomas and an infant grandson.

The funeral and committal service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Teresa Robison pastor of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Sheakleyville Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences with the family online at www.snyderfh.com.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 West Station Square Drive, Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
