Joan L. Gow, Greenville (Salem Twp.) passed away Thursday afternoon, January 2, 2020 in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Brunswick, Ga.. She was 94.
Joan was born in Salem Twp, on August 2, 1925 a daughter of the late Stephen Claud and Vada Violet (Vosler) Osborn. On November 24, 1944 she married Glenn R. Gow who had preceded her in death on January 2, 1990. She had been employed at the former Greenville Hospital as a Nurses Aide, from which she had retired in 1974. Joan was a member of the Greenville Alliance church.
She is survived by her son, Glenn A. Gow, Carlisle; a daughter, Marsha L. Pierce. Brunswick, GA.
Three grandchildren: Angela J. Groman, Michelle L. Gonzalez and her husband Roland, Douglas C. Pierce and his wife Marci and 8 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Groman, Kyle Groman, Myles Groman, Ryan Groman, Andrew Gonzalez, Anna Grace Gonzalez, Madison Pierce and Dunedin Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years; a son, Gerald Eugene Gow; two brothers, Ivan Osborne and Alpha Osborne; a grandson, Aaron G. Gow and a daughter-in-law, Karen J. Gow.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Nathan Seckinger, pastor of the Greenville Alliance Church officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Stevenson Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
