Gayle L. Rethage

Gayle fought a long hard battle with cancer and through her journey, she taught us that life should be enjoyed, and you should fight hard for the people you love. Through positive changes and time spent with family second chances are possible.

Gayle had a kind spirit. She always had a love for children and animals, spending much of her early years working in early childhood education, as well as being a nanny.As a child her sister described her as a loving and free spirit. Her relationship with her children had its ups and downs, but in the end they found peace through forgiveness and understanding. In the end what remained was love.

Gayle took a lot of pride in being a grandma, and her grand children remember her fondly.     In Benly’s word, “She was really nice, and she was my best mumum Gayle.”

In the years leading up to her passing God brought Wayne into Gayle’s life. Wayne and his family cared for and loved her until the end.

We will remember Gayle not for her battle with cancer or difficult end, but for the love she left in our hearts.
