Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Cornett, a resident of St. Paul’s Home, Greenville passed away early, Friday Morning, June 14, 2019. She was 86.
She was born in Guys Mills, Pa. on February 2, 1933 a daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Thornton) DeRemer. On October 22, 1950 she married Keith McCartney who preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and had previously been employed by Spang Power Electronics, Sandy Lake. She was a 67 year member of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by a son Robert McCartney and his wife Wendy of Hadley; two daughter, Beth Jordan and her husband Gene of Hadley and Diane Marshall and her husband Rick of Greenville; a sister Peggy Marron, White Deer, TX; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Amy) McCartney, Ryan McCartney, Joshua (Ashley) McCartney, Chad Harnett, Tessa Fountain and Adam (Olga) Marshall and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Keith; her second husband James Cornett; 2 brothers, 1 sister and a great grandson.
A Service Celebrating the life of Elizabeth “Betty” M. Cornett will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3113 Hadley Road, Clarks Mills with Rev. Adam J. Stump officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at the Bell Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
