Dave was always so friendly when I shopped at WalMart. I always saw a smile on his face, along with his cheerful greeting. I will miss seeing him there. Special hugs to all of his family.

My family & I would like to send our deepest sympathy to Dave's family during this difficult time. Mel was a name we always addressed him by since he became a good friend of our family during the past 5 decades. My father got to know Mel during his days playing in the band Stryker & it blossomed into a lifelong friendship. Mel would take time from his busy schedule to visit my father at the nursing home during the past decade to root the Steelers on TV! I always enjoyed sharing his thoughts & passion for the team. We will definitely miss your SMILE, your LAUGH & easy going nature. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Sorry to hear of the recent passing of David. I attended Commodore Perry school and we graduated together in 1967. During our 48th year class reunion Dave and I had a wonderful time catching up and just recently became friends on Face Book. I’m very sorry for your loss and hope the prayers and support from all of Dave’s family and friends are of comfort to you during this trying time. Please accept my sincere condolences.
