C. Clay Snyder
A Mt. Gilead native, Clay is a graduate of Marion Harding High School, The Ohio State University, and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a third generation licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Insurance Agent in the State of Ohio. Clay co-managed the Snyder Funeral Homes in Mt. Gilead from 1985 until moving to Delaware in 1993 when the DeVore Funeral Homes of Delaware County were purchased by the Snyder Family. Clay currently oversees the operation of the DeVore-Snyder locations in Delaware, Sunbury, and Marengo. He serves on the Board of Directors for the William St. United Methodist Church Foundation, the Delaware Arts Castle, and the Council for Older Adults of Delaware County. He is a member of the Delaware Rotary Club, Past President of the Mt. Gilead Lions Club, and former Chairman of the United Way of Delaware County and Morrow County. Clay and his wife Jackie are members of the William Street United Methodist Church. They have one son, Ridge, and one daughter, Sophie.


Chad J. Snyder
A native of Mount Gilead, Chad is a graduate of the Mount Gilead High School Class of 1997. He received his bachelorÕs degree in Psychology from Miami University of Ohio, where he served as a crisis line counselor for over two years. Next, Chad graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where he received the Homer D. Leffler Award for funeral directing and counseling. Chad holds licenses as a Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Insurance Agent in the State of Ohio. He is the second member of the fourth generation of the Snyder Family to be active in funeral service. Chad became manager of the Craven & Snyder Funeral Homes in Mount Gilead following his father TrentÕs retirement in 2006, after previously working for almost 4 years with the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Homes in Delaware County. In March of 2006, he also became manager of the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home in Marion. He formerly served as the chairman of the Board of Directors for HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties and is a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead.


Dan Snyder
Dan has resided in Knox County for most of his life. He is a graduate of Fredericktown High School, attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Dan has managed the Fredericktown Chapel since 1976 and is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Ohio. He serves on the Board of Directors of First Knox National Bank in Mt. Vernon, and is a member of the Thrall Masonic Lodge #140 in Fredericktown. Dan and his wife Susan are members of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.


Dennis L. Snyder
Dennis has resided in Knox County for most of his life. A graduate of Fredericktown High School, he attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1970. Dennis became the first member of the third generation of the Snyder Family in funeral service when he became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Ohio. He managed the Bellville-Butler Chapel for 11 years, moving to Mt. Vernon in 1981 when the Flowers Funeral Home joined the Snyder Family of funeral homes. Dennis is a member of the Bellville Masonic Lodge #291 and the Mt. Vernon County Club. He is a Past President of the Mansfield Sertoma Club. Dennis and his wife Diana are members of the Gay Street United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. Dennis is the father of Weston Snyder and has three grandchildren, Braxton, Jaxon and Maddox.


J. Paul Snyder
A Bellville native, Paul is a graduate of Bellville High School, attended Mansfield Business School and The Ohio State University. A second generation licensed Funeral Director, Paul married Shontell Wolford in 1953. They have resided in and been active in the Fredericktown, Lexington and Bellville communities and churches, having served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. They are members of The New Life Church of Christ in Bellville. Paul is a Past Master of Thrall Masonic Lodge #170, Past President of the Fredericktown Lions Club and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and Past Secretary of the Bellville Lions Club. Paul and Shontell are members of Ann Hill Chapter #81 of the Order of the Eastern Star. They are the parents of three sons, attorney Bradley L. Snyder, J.D., Randy S. Snyder MBA, J. Todd Snyder, and have 8 grandchildren.


J. Todd Snyder
Lexington area native, J. Todd Snyder is a graduate of Lexington High School, The Ohio State University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Todd holds licenses in the state of Ohio as Funeral Director, Embalmer and Insurance Agent. He has managed the Lexington Avenue Chapel since 1985, and began overseeing the operations of the Bellville-Butler Chapel following his father Paul's retirement in 1997. Because of his expertise in the area of funeral pre-planning and pre-funding, he has served on the Funeral Advisory Board for the CNA Insurance Companies since 1995. Past President of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association District #2, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for MedCentral Health System Hospice. Todd and his wife Linda are members of Berean Baptist Church. They have two children Hannah and Gideon.


Richard A. Snyder
Dick was born in Morrow County, graduating from Johnsville High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe with Patton's Third Army during World War II. Following the war he graduated from the Cleveland College of Embalming and became the first member of the second generation of the Snyder Family to enter funeral service. He is a Past Master of Bellville Masonic Lodge #291, Past President of the Fredericktown Lions Club, and served as Grand Marshall of the Fredericktown Tomato Show. He is a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. Dick and his wife Helen Wirick Snyder are the parents of Dan, Dennis, and Joe Snyder.


Sean Snyder
A Bellville native, Sean Snyder is a graduate of Clear Fork High School, class of 2002. He received his degree in Business Administration from North Central State College. Following graduation from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2006, Sean received the Homer D. Leffler Award for funeral directing and counseling as well as the Ohio Embalmers Association Award. He began serving families in the Snyder Family's Richland county locations immediately after graduation. He is the third member of the fourth generation of the Snyder Family to be active in funeral service. He holds licenses in Ohio as both Embalmer and Funeral Director. In his spare time, Sean plays the guitar, and volunteers to coach community basketball leagues. He and his wife Amanda live in Bellville.


Trent A. Snyder
Trent resided in Mt. Gilead for most of his life. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School, Capital University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Trent is a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Insurance Agent in the State of Ohio. He managed the funeral homes in Mount Gilead from 1975 until 2006. He is a distinguished Past President of the Mount Gilead Kiwanis Club and served as Board Chairman of the Morrow County Board of MR/DD from 1984-89. He also served on the Mount Gilead Chapter of the American Red Cross Board and the Health Opportunity Search Team for Morrow County. He is the father of two sons, Ryan and Chad. Trent and his wife Reina reside in Boulder, Colorado.


Weston T. Snyder
Weston is a native of Mount Vernon, residing there for most of his life. He is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Malone College in Canton where he was a member of the golf team. Following graduation from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1996, Weston became the first member of the fourth generation of the Snyder Family active in funeral service. Wes is licensed in the State of Ohio as a Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Life Insurance Agent. He is a member of Gay Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon and the Mount Vernon Country Club. He and his wife Stacy have three sons, Braxton, Jaxon and Maddox.


Jeffrey W. Briggs
Jeff Briggs was raised in Monroe County, Ohio and graduated from Woodsfield High School in the Class of 1991. He attended Ohio University and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1998 with his Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science. He started in funeral service in 1989 at a funeral home in Woodsfield, and in 2002 left to go to work for Rock of Ages Memorials. In August of 2005, Jeff joined the Snyder Funeral Homes of Knox County. Jeff and his wife Jenny, have two children, Greg and Kaitlynn. They are members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, and Jeff is also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #847 in Mount Vernon and a 4th degree member of the Father John Lamey Assembly 2970 in Danville/Mount Vernon. He holds licenses in the State of Ohio as a funeral director and embalmer.


R. Gene Burchill
Gene has resided in the Mansfield area since 1969. He is a graduate of Glendale High School, Coalport, PA, and attended Penn State University. He is a licensed insurance agent in the State of Ohio. Gene began his career in funeral service in 1993 and joined the Snyder Family in 1994. He currently serves as Family Services Manager at the Lexington Avenue, Marion Avenue-Finefrock and Bellville-Butler Chapels. Gene and his wife Mary are members of Grace Evangelical Free Church. They have three adult daughters Kim, Sheri, and Jeni, and six grandsons.


Ryan M. Collins
A native of Lexington, Ryan graduated from Lexington High School in the Class of 1998. He received his bachelorÕs degree in Anthropology from Kent State University in 2003. Next, Ryan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2005. In February of 2007, he joined Snyder Funeral Homes and assists in the operations of the two Mount Gilead Chapels and the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home in Marion. He holds licenses in the State of Ohio as a funeral director and embalmer. Ryan and his wife Angela, a Registered Nurse at Marion General Hospital, reside in Mount Gilead. Together they attend the Heartland Alliance Church, North Woodbury Campus. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys cooking, reading, music, following his beloved Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and spending time with his wife.


G. Richard DeVore
Richard is a Galena native, residing in Sunbury since 1959. He is a graduate of Galena High School and the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science Class of 1956. Richard is an Ohio State Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director. Beginning in 1935 three generations of the DeVore family operated the DeVore Funeral Homes. He merged the three DeVore locations with the Snyder family in 1993 and assists with the operation of the DeVore-Snyder Chapel locations in Delaware, Sunbury, and Marengo. Richard is a 32 degree mason, member of Sparrow Lodge #400 F & AM, Delaware County Shrine Club, Columbia Chapter #33 OES, B.P.O. Elks #76 Delaware, and Sunbury United Methodist Church. He and his wife Phyllis have 3 children.


Susan A. Dill
Susan was born and raised in Marion, where she graduated from Pleasant High School in 1996. She received her BachelorÕs degree in Communications and Public Relations from Heidelberg College. Upon graduation from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2001, she was awarded the Lab Assistant Award and Delanie L. Beaver Award for restorative art. Susan holds licenses in Ohio as both a Funeral Director and Embalmer. Joining the Snyder Family after mortuary school, she served her apprenticeship in Delaware County under her father Tom Miller, and serves as a director in the Mansfield and Bellville Snyder Funeral Homes. Susan and her husband Lance live in Bellville. She is a member of the Bellville Lions Club and attends St. Paul Lutheran Church. Susan enjoys traveling, especially to the beach, reading, and likes to join her husband in a game of golf.


Trevis F. Faulkner
Trev was raised in Jefferson County, Ohio and graduated from Buckeye North High School. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Malone College, where he was a member of the golf team. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science prior to joining the Snyder Family of Funeral Homes in 1997. He holds licenses in the State of Ohio as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He is a member of the Mt. Vernon Country Club.


J.B. Love
A native of Maysville, KY, J.B. attended Western Kentucky State University and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1965. He holds licenses in the State of Ohio as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Defense Intelligence Agency serving in the Pentagon, and a member of American Legion Post #16. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church where he is chairman of the ushers and has served the congregation as an elder and deacon. He is a member of the Mansfield Rotary Club. J.B. has resided in Mansfield since 1974, first as an associate of J.H. Finefrock & Sons Funeral Home, a firm he served for 22 years. He joined the Snyder Family in 1996 as senior director and serves families from the firmÕs three Richland County locations. When Snyder Funeral Homes acquired the former Finefrock Funeral Home building late in 2007, J.B. was named General Manager of this location, restoring him to this grand and historic home, under local and family ownership. He and his wife Susan have two sons Jay and Darrin and twin daughters Amanda and Kara.


Thomas E. Miller
Originally from Marion County, Tom is a graduate of Elgin High School, attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Sparrow Lodge #400 Free & Accepted Masons, B.P.O. Elks #76 and Columbia Chapter #33 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sunbury. He and his wife Pat, have two daughters Heather and Susan, and reside in Sunbury. Tom began his career in funeral service in 1975, and joined the Snyder Family in 1995.


Frederick W. Schenk
Fred is a lifelong Ohioan, residing in north central Ohio since 1994. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University before becoming an Ohio Licensed Funeral Director and Life/Health Insurance Agent. Fred has been involved in funeral service for twenty years, licensed for fifteen, and focused on serving families by specializing in Advance Funeral Planning since 1995. He has since been accredited with the title ÒCertified Preplanning ConsultantÓ by the National Funeral DirectorÕs Association. He continues his calling and dedication to Advance Funeral Planning by serving Snyder families in Delaware, Morrow, and Marion counties. Fred, his wife, Karen, and there two daughters, Anneliese and Clair are active members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. They reside on a small farm in rural Delaware County raising beef cattle and goats.


Donald W. Smith
Don has been a resident of the Centerburg area since 1969. He is a Veteran of the United States Army. Don worked in funeral service within the Centerburg and Westerville areas for 15 years before joining the Snyder Family in 2004. He serves as a non-licensed associate for the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Homes in Sunbury, Marengo, and Delaware. Don and his wife Joyce are members of the Centerburg Church of Christ. They have four children; Angie, Bethany, Chantel, and Donald II, and one grandson, Michael.


Ryan P. Watts
Ryan Watts was raised in Ashtabula County, Ohio where he was a 1996 graduate of Edgewood Senior High School. He attended the Ohio State University and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1999. After working in Ashtabula until 2003 he took a year off from funeral service, working as a substitute teacher and coaching high school athletics. He began working in Mount Gilead in 2004. He and his wife Aimee, a pharmacist, have a daughter Virginia. Ryan is a member of the Mount Gilead Kiwanis and is an Ohio Reads Volunteer. He is licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in the State of Ohio.
