George F. Subasic

October 28, 1958 ~ October 7, 2016 (age 57) 57 Years Old

George F. Subasic, Jr., Fredonia passed away at 12:15 pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was 57.

George was born in Sharon on October 28, 1958 a son George F. and Margaret “Peggy” (Biggin) Subasic, Sr.  On August 27, 1982 he married the former Kathleen “Kate” A. North who survives.    He had served with the US Marine Corp. then went onto work for Wheatland Tube Corp.. In 1984 he enlisted with the U.S. Navy and following his discharge went onto work as an OR Tech at the Grove City Medical Center until 1997 at which time he became a truck driver having enjoyed travelling through the United States with his dog Ruby as his companion.  George last employment was with the Keystone Adolescent Center, Greenville.

 He was a member of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church and professed a strong Christian faith and a love for his family.  George loved life and enjoyed meeting people throughout his life journey.  He enjoyed the Reynolds Wrestling program.

In addition to his wife Kate, he is survived by his mother Peggy of Greenville, a son Steven Subasic of Fredonia; 3 sisters, Debra Fievet of Texas, Beth Ann Subasic of Pittsburgh and Beverly Violet of Dayton, OH, a beloved Aunt and Uncle - Tom and Beverly Rusnak of WA.  5 nephews and 3 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Judy Goulding; 2 brothers, David Subasic and Randy Subasic and a niece, Brandy Harris.

The funeral and committal service will be held on Monday, October, 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 2 4 Water Street, Fredonia with the Rev. Eric Peters officiating.  Family and friends may call at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Memories and condolences may be shared on line at www.snyderfh.com.
