Thank you so much for our 63 years of marriage. We were blessed of God with 4 children, 9 grandkids & 2 greatgrandsons. We enjoyed our camping trips, then mission trips to Haiti. In 2012 you were diagnosed with heart and lung problems so we downsized to a duplex in Greenville. When you were hospitalized this last time you were such a witness to the nurses and doctors with your cheery attitude. Your next to last day when it was totally quiet you heard someone singing, "What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see". I said it must be angels. You told us you were ready to go and you wanted to see all the family there. I will be praying that each of our kids and all the grandkids will be reunited with us one day.

We will always remember Gene and that wonderful smile. Such a good and caring man. I (Bob) always enjoyed the times I stayed over at the "Great House" when Gary and I were in junior high years. Patty and I have reminisced over the last several days about Gene and Norm Reed's trips to Haiti as well as Lois and Joan Reed making the trips. Lois, you certainly have our sympathy during this time of loss. We know that Gene now gets to look at our Lord in person with that big smile!

My deepest sympathy to you Lois and all of your family. It was great having you as neighbors growing up!! I remember the playhouse on stilts that Gene built. What fun Linda and I had in there. I also remember taking turns with the boys to sleep in it overnight. Rest in peace, Gene.

Grandpa~
I am going to miss our phone conversations and visits. It won't be the same without you when calling your house. I know you are really excited to be in heaven and you will be reunited with alot of great people up there. I couldn't have asked for a better grandpa. Thank you for teaching me so much...thanks for always listening and giving advise. I have always been proud to call you grandpa.
Grandma~
I love you very much and I know it will be hard without grandpa around. You and grandpa had a great many years together and in that time you raised a great family, spread alot of love and together showed many people in this world about kindness. You and grandpa had a one of a kind bond that you don't see much these days. I will forever cherish all the memories......with grandpa. I love you grandma!
