Franklin L. Cochran, New Vernon Twp. passed away on September 18, 2017. He was 91.
He was born in New Castle on January 9, 1926 a son of the late Carl and Marguerite (Lackey) Cochran. On June 18, 1947 he married the former M. Lois Yeager who survives. He had been employed by Westrac, Mercer, Rusco, Cohranton, Speir’s Trailer Sales, Hadley and as a guard at the R.D. Werner, Greenville from which he retired. He was a member of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church and the New Vernon Grange. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served two tours in Japan during W.W.II
He loved fishing in Canada, reading, hunting, anything that was chocolate and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is survived by his children, Linda (Anthony) Kondzielski, Waterford, Brenda K. (Daryl) Fulmer, Sandy Lake and Alan B. (Denise) Cochran, Stoneboro. A sister, Vera Eileen Hall of Middleburg, FL, a brother K. Lawrence and Bill Long of Talmadge, OH., 7 grandchildren, Tanya, Tasha, Aaron, Julene, Chelsee, April and Adam. 15 great grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, Grace, Jonah, Piper, Kyle, Caleb, Kendra, Autumn, Bryson, Logan, Kaylee, Maddie, Jade and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfathers, Kenneth Anthony and Willis Crooks.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Adam Stump, pastor of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church officiating. The interment with military honors accorded by Reynold’s VFW Post 7will follow at the Perry Chapel Cemetery, Perry Twp.
