Donna Marie (Morris) Yoder

Donna Marie (Morris) Yoder, formerly of Meadville, then of Cochranton, passed away from this life to the eternal one she was so longing for on Sunday October 23, 2016, at the Crawford County Care Center after a period of failing health. She was born July 11, 1924 to Dr. F.R. and Anna (Beach) Morris. On November 26, 1953, she married Jacob E. Yoder, who preceded her in death on August 26, 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Wengerd and her husband, John, of Cochranton; four grandchildren: Carl Wengerd and his wife, Amy, of Cochranton, Heidi Wengerd Mills and her husband, Daniel, of JonBen, WV, Wesley Wengerd and his wife, Ruby, of Cochranton, and Amy Snow of Girard. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren: Brett, Amber, Harmony, Kiahna, Shelby, and Olivia Wengerd, children of Carl and Amy Wengerd; Forrest, Amanda, Adrian and McKenna Mills, children of Heidi and Daniel Mills; Garrett, Dakota, and Destiny Wengerd, children of Wesley and Ruby Wengerd; and Piper and Ruby Snow, children of Amy and Bob Snow. She is also survived by a sister in law, Mary Morris of Leola, two nieces, Ruth Morris of Leola, and Louise Reeb of Eureka, IL, two nephews, Churck Morris and Chris Morris. In addition to the passing of her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Yoder, in April 2015, two brothers, Paul and his wife Carrie, and Glen, also went on ahead of her.

In earlier years, she loved to work outside with her husband on their small farm. Their greatest joy was in the evening when they would sit and study their Sunday School lesson together. She loved to paint, knit and crochet and gave most of her items away. All of her grandchildren and most of her great-grandchildren have paintings in their homes given by Grandma Yoder.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Care Center for the loving care they provided for Mrs. Yoder while she was a resident there. Also, to thank the wonderful people of Hospice who were so kind to her and made sure she was comfortable and pain free.      

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2016 11:00 am at the Pleasantview Mennonite Church, 3488 County Line Road, Cochranton, with John Wengerd officiating. The interment will follow at the Pleasantview Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 25, from 4-8pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville and Wednesday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00am time of service.
