Charles L. Carlin, Jr., Greenville (Perry Twp.) passed away 6:15 am on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Villa’s at St. Paul’s Home, Greenville. He was 83.
Born in Pittsburgh on April 21, 1934 a son of the late Charles L. and Bernadette (Firlie) Carlin, Sr. He had been a driver for the George Junior Republic, Grove City. He was a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Engine and Old Equipment Association and the Portersville Steam Show. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop and the companionship of his dog “Buddy”.
He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Cornett, Greenville, his children, Patty (Ken) Stancliffe, Lower Burrell, Sr. Mary Christine Carlin OSB, Pittsburgh, Greg (Michelle) Carlin, Penn Hills, Beth (Joe) Oravetz, Garrettsville, OH, Bob (Wendy) McCartney, Sheakleyville, Diane (Rick) Marshall, Greenville and Beth (Gene) Jordan, Hadley; A brother, Paul (Rosemary) Carlin, Olney, MD; a sister Frances Zounek, Hicksville, NY; 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Olivia), Stephanie (Ethan). Jake (Lisa), Adam (Olga), Tessa and Chad (Sara) and 6 Great grandchildren, Colin, Vadim, Gio, Sophia, Riley and Garett.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. The committal service and interment will follow at the Bell Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 – 8:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com
