Charlene M. Shipton

Charlene M. Shipton, of Fredonia (Delaware Twp.) passed away at 1:50 am on February 1, 2018 at UPMC Passavant-McCandless. She was 84.

She was born in the state of Indiana on February 7, 1933 a daughter of the late Charles and Emily (Cregg) Witt. On September 18, 1954 she married Donald Shipton who survives. Charlene was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting and her dog, Jake. But most of all, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church.

Charlene is survived by her husband of 63 years, two sons, Donald Shipton and wife Michelle of Greenville and Charles Shipton and wife Diana of Farrell, a daughter Brenda Irwin and husband Scott of Fredonia, a son-in-law Jim Albaugh of Greenville, two sisters-in-law, Janet Shipton of Greenville and Pat Shipton of CA, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Beth Albaugh and Ginger Oskin, three sisters and a grandson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, Water Street, Fredonia, with Rev. Eric Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Ball Cemetery, Fredonia. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm time of service and are invited to share memories and condolences online at rlsfh.com. Arrangements are with Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 169 2nd Street, Fredonia.

The family has suggested that any memorial contributions be made to Fredonia Presbyterian Church.
